Shantel Gentle is our April Star Player of the Month!
Shantel Gentle is responsible for the payroll management and personnel coordination of the USC Libraries. She manages between 230-250 faculty, staff, and students per semester and provides additional support to Student Affairs – Rec Sports as needed, which is another 180 staff and students. She has been instrumental in the development of the Libraries new Master of Management in Library and Information Science (MMLIS) Program Teaching Overload Memo that is distributed to faculty outlining their additional teaching and service pay per semester. She also offers her guidance to faculty on understanding how this information is reflected in Workday under the Faculty Salary Dashboard. Shantel has expressed taking on more of a leadership role on the team and has initiated training sessions on Period Activity Overload Pay with her peers. She has shared her desire to ensure the team is cross trained and able to support our faculty clientele with their academic activities.
