Octavio Higareda is our November 2020 Star Player of the Month!
Octavio is an Accountant I for Provost Finance. One of his main responsibilities is the management of Undergraduate Programs, including program operations, Trojan Scholars Society, Advising, Academic Honors and Fellowships; distribution and management of numerous scholarship stipends. He provides the AVPs monthly reconciliations and financial summaries of various programs administered through UGP. We recently welcomed the newly appointed Vice Provost for Academic Programs and Dean of the Graduate School, Andrew Stott, to the Office of the Provost, overseeing both Graduate and Undergraduate Programs. Using the financials Octavio prepares, we were able to help provide Andrew a clear and thorough review of each programs funding trends, as well as a solid overview of the UGP annual operations. Andrew was quite pleased with the information, and in my eyes that’s a win for us all.
